! Help a poor n00b out!

Please, I am totally new to Photoshop, I just got it today and have no idea of what I’m doing…

First off, why can’t I see the paint bucket tool on the toolbar???

Secondly…

See the lighter areas? The guy said to achieve thoes with the “douge tool.” What the phuk is that and where do I find it?

Thanks for the help, I’m sure I’ll need some more later…

I highly recommend you become acquainted with the tools before you start doing tutorials, otherwise you will cause yourself some needless stress.

On the tools panel you will notice some of the boxes have black arrows pointing to the right at the bottom right hand corner. This means you can right click on that tool and select other tools of its type. If you hover over each of the icons, a little message pops up telling you want the tool is (sorta like what happens when you hover over images sometimes on a website)

I recommend you go through each of these tools and experiment with what each thing does. It is better to know what you are using beforehand.

ok ok…

I found that stuff, but I still dont know why I cant see the Paint bucket…

How do you rotate a layer?

Rotate a layer - use the “move tool” (1st one 2nd column) If you hover around the outside of the bounding box it creates (dotted lines with blocks you can drag to resize) you will see a curved line with arrows, this means rotate.

Paint bucket - It is in the same icon as the gradient tool (forget location, but it is in the second column, maybe 4th one down???).

ah thanks so much… I thought i looked at the pop out menu on gradient, guess not

yo dude, you need to go here
http://photoshopgurus.info/beginner.shtml
that will get you acqauinted with the tools at least and from there you can actually follow tutorials, otherwise your going to be lost!

Edit: yo beta no pun intended :o

Boy do I wish I knew about this site when I was learning Photoshop.
