I am going through “The Complete Flash MX Handbook” by the makers of Computer Arts and I was doing the sound tutorial. I have attached my version of what is asked that doesn’t work.
1.In frame 1 of the attached zipped file I was asked to create a global sound object by choosing Actions>Variables>Set Variable and in the Variable field enter the name track1 and click the value field
2.With the value field selected from teh previous step, choose the objects>Movie>Sound>newSound option and check the Value expression box
3.To load and play an external sound choose Objects>Movie>Sound>Methods>loadSound and enter the name of your sound object: track1. In the parameters field enter the path to the neural.mp3 file as neural.mp3.
It then says to test the movie and I should hear the track playing back. However when I test I hear nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also thought I include the steps that was asked so that one can see the steps asked to take and may point what I may be missing. Oh I tried zipping the sound, and uploading but it was too large. Anyone can substitue it.
