Hey,
Ok, my burner wasnt working, so the computer company told me to format it and reisntall windows. DONE! Then, I went to windows update.com to make sure i had everything good to go… then SUDDENLY, i had the friggen Blaster virus! So I then formatted and did it all over, AGAIN. So I went back to Windows update, and didnt do anything else online … and SURPRISE! Blaster, again!
I don’t know about normal connections, but I got the virus from just plugging my ethernet card into the wall. Couldn’t even get to any sites. But I was on a big network, so don’t know if that’s why.
Just go to a friends house or work or something and burn the cd there.
Or just dl the patch and burn it to a cd while you have the virus, then format and patch the comp before you get online.
they took the original site down,
the blaster code pointed to the “old” url…microsoft had a url redirection setup and took it down so the denial of service attack would hit the old url and not just be redirected to the “proper” spot…smart move on microsoft’s side, however today a new version of the blaster virus emerged…and its counterpart that was sent out to seek and destroy it, has in fact slowed down things…
so my job has been hectic lately…lol…prstudio (virus hunter)
as far as getting it by just going to the site, got me man, must be something else you are doing, i doubt that their server has it…
no i dont have the virus anymore … because I havent gone to windows update … if I would have gone to windows update, I would be re-installing windows right now … but since I havent gone there, i’ve gotten no virus. and usualy windows updates get drivers back … and I cant get any of mine … I need one for my monitor and speakers … and I cant find them… ack!
when you go to download a driver from them, they’ll ask for a username and password…use “driver” for username and “all” for password
if you still can’t find your drivers, pull out your cards (physically from your machine) copy down all the s/n, p/n, and make and model info and i can try and help find them too
ok, ok… thank you for your help teet… i didnt need a driver for my monitor, i needed a driver for my graphics and audio … and after 2 hours … i figured to go to the intel site, and download it all of there… haha . and it worked.
thank you … i dont have blaster now, but can i install that thing you provided (which im doing now) and I will be protected?
yeah…you should be protected from blaster once you install that patch (assuming you are using windows xp…if you’re using windows 2000 you have to get a different patch).
i’m not sure what’s up with the whole windows update thing…strange…i always do my windows update automatically with windows xp though…
