Help with Site Navigation

Hi guys. Hope I’m posting this in the right forum. I just discovered this site last night, and already it’s been a big help.

I have a deadline coming up for a project I have to complete for school in Flash, and I’m a little lost. The finished product will be an online portfolio of my art and design work. I plan to embed the actual image galleries as HTML files (that is possible, right?) but right now I’m trying to get the navigation figured out.

Here’s the flash file I’m working with right now, for reference:

I want the navigation to mimic an actual portfolio, with tabs to flip through the different sections. Being new to ActionScript, though, I’m having some trouble getting it to do what I want. When I click on a tab, say the “Design” tab, for instance, I want all flaps in front of it (“Home” and “Art”) to fold down, revealing the gallery I will have on the “Design” flap. However, I can’t figure out how to get the animation to start and stop where I want it to depending on which button is being clicked. Also, at some points I will need it to cycle backwards through the animation. For instance, if I am at the “Sketches” section and I click on the “Art” button, I will want the “Design” and “Art” flaps to flip back up.

Hope that all made sense.

Like I said, I’m completely new to ActionScripting, and coding isn’t really my thing, so if someone could get me going in the right direction, or even fiddle with the Flash file a bit for me, I’d appreciate it a lot. Thanks!
