I finally got how to use empty movie clips and other things along those lines. As am building the first version of my website and want it to be pretty cool i am trying to find the right effects.
The effect i want is used on alot of sites. When i have pro loaded my main content how do i make things appear before / after other things i will give a quick example.

When the page has loaded all the pics and text boxes come on before the text. Then every peice of text comes on with a small beep.
e.g
>Text Box> Text beep > Picture beep > Banner beep > Site Fully Loaded
How do they organise this because i really like it and i could definately work with it.
Also if possible how can i adapt this to shapes so a sqaure a time comes on before the rest. Kinda like on www.electrongeek.net on the protfolia section when the images appear using hexagons/pentagons.
It’s all baffling me.
Do you mean, like, it which order things appear on the timeline?
yes like on that website. Is it just timeline placing because when i do it it doesnt look as professional.
the test seems to flash on better than making it just appear i dont get it 
Everything is either blinking and then staying on or fading in rapidly. It is just placement on the timeline. There are two ways you can do this:

Put all your objects on different layers and fade them in by changing them all to movieClips and use a motion tween in the beginning of a only a few frames, then change the first keyframe’s content’s alpha to zero.

Goto Insert>New Symbol>MovieClip
You will be given a new timeline. Make whatever you want to have happen, blinking or fading or any other animation. Then go back to your mainstage and from your library, drop that movieClip’s registration point where ever you want that animation to appear in your movie.

one more newbie question how do you make it look like it is drawing lines. Say i want to draw a sqaure a line appears and then draw another line and follow the whole shape round?
I cant really explain like on the into to the website where it draws a outline of 3 people and then the pic appears how do i do that?

Are you comfortable with masks?
This is the only way I know of doing an effect like that:
Draw the line that you want to have in it’s complete form. Put a mask on it - remember that whatever shape or line you put on that masked layer is what will show, not what’s hidden.
Here’s the time consuming part. Of course, the chunks of mask you add in each frame (or few frames) will be how fast something gets drawn (or erased in reverse like that site). I just did something like that using laserbeams to carve out a name in the intro to a site I’m working on:

I used the paintbrush and on the mask layer, I would make a keyframe, put on a couple drops of mask, hit F6 (which makes a new keyframe), and add a couple more drops of mask. It’s step by step animation to slowly uncover whatever is beneath.
There may be an eaiser way to do this, but I don’t know of one.
AND…It’s awfly interesting to see what I would look like if I was in the UK (I have red hair, play guitar, and drink beer…teehee).

This is one of the worst pictures ever. I was drunk, singing scare-eoke and I seemed to be really really into it. That should clear up any resolutions about my comment about what I would look like if I was in the UK.
