I presume you’ve read this thread about the game means I presume you’ve read this thread from the beginning so you know that I want people to help do graphics for the game.
Neo_Clone01:
Excellent. Thanks very much. I’m trying to see what develops. I’m an “on the fly” kind of person so my ideas just develop. But I would like the game to be original and not have copied graphics.
That mean:
Original background. Start with the first level - we can worry about others after.
A character - as you’ve probably read before - and bits and bobs like little villains, big villains, bonuses etc.
I think that once we know who’s on board - we know who will do what. What kind of stuff do you specialise in?
Yes I understand about both games, I just got confused.
When we refer to the games, lets refer to one as the gun game and the action game
In the pm you said that you finished it and re-arranged code… but no download link :-
So I thought you posted it in a thread for some reason and that also clashed with the ‘game thread’… lol
I don’t know if anyone’s started on it yet - but I will keep adding to the game so you can get an idea of what stuff to make, from the laser/bullet, down to bonuses.
Yes. Sure. I need someone to do various art work. I want this to be a collaborated effort - where everyone “chips in”.
If you’ve read the post then you probably have an idea of what graphics are required. Could you do backgrounds? The size is around just under 3000 x 300. It’s continuously scrolled - in a loop. The one I use in the example is around 2800 x 300.
I’m trying to establish everyone’s skill set so we know who can do what and who will do what.
Basically. I need the main character. This will require various animations, like running, jumping, etc. I gave an example in my first post.
Just to recap - thanks to everyone who has responded. I know I keep saying this, but if everyone could post what they would like to do, so we know who’s doing what, and then we can begin.
That way some can be doing the characters, while some one else can be doing the background, and someone else villains, etc. etc.
It’s going to be alot of effort, but there are alot of talented people here - there’s no point keeping all that talent in!
OK, well I’m wiling to work on characters and backgrounds if required.
What I’d mainly like to know is what sort of style you’re going for - futuristic, modern, fantasy - that kind of thing. Male or female characters, size, cartoony, serious…
I was thinking of originally doing it cartoony, but after the example I think a futuristic/fantasy kind - like cyborgs. The main character would be a man with funky armour (anybody remember that cartoon, when they used to say “power extreme” and get kitted up? Anyway enough nostalgia).
He would be in two states. Running, standing, I was going to say jumping by I could get away with using one of the running frames, crouching - with one weapon, then all of the previous holding a different weapon. Initially of course - just try it with one weapon.
So something like the guy in the example really. Half man half machine - and the background, again - sort of like the example - maybe in an industrial area? Or even a mountainous area, ala Mad Max. I think some brainstorming is required.
