Ok for some reason the hitTest I have setup in the attached file seems to work in relation with the blue box’s that surround objects and not with the actually objects… does anyone have any answers to this?? I’m really stumped;( …Anyways I’m pretty sure that it has to do with the border…thanks in advance!
um… could you tell me what is not working cause i cant dowload anything at my works comp soo just tell me and ill see what i can do.
hit test goes by that blue border, NOT by what is drawn inside. so if the pencil tip touches the blue border of the line, it sends “true” to the check. You would have to do a lot more complex hit testing to make a ‘game’ like that, and I don’t know much about complex hit testing. try running some searches. Also, be sure to check out actionscripts.org and ultrashock.com too. Forum searches on ultrashock will probably bring up some good stuff.
And do a search here on “precise hittest”, “accurate hittest” and similar keywords:

i belive there was a really good conversation on precise hittest on the bit-101 forums as well.
