Ok so I’ve done plenty of searching and investigation into this issue. A friend of mine works for a non-profit and they are having me redo their website.
i personally use ipowerweb and have been for some time…I’ve also set some people up on network solutions (as requested).
Thing is, this site will be getting a good bit of traffic and will be using a couple MYSQL databases (one for a small scale CMS), the other for bulletin board or maybe even a small ecommerce solution.
Would you all recommend a shared or dedicated server solution? Would definitely need to be reliable hosting service. I would just go with ipowerweb again, but they’ve dropped the ball recently on my personal site and they had to revert to a backup copy from 3 days previous (which eliminated posts from my bulletin board and updates to my site).
Guess I’m wondering what a “pro” would use. Also, how would you guys bill something like this? Would you set the client up directly and let them take care of the billing, or would you setup the service and bill them as middle man?
