This is my first post here. I’ve been using Flash for quite a while bit with usage of simple and basic ActionScript. I’m more of a graphical side than a coder or programmer but learning ActionScript is something that I always want to do but have been procastinating… till I chanced upon this site! http://www.gallagherdesign.com/
I’m awed by the ease of flowing for each sections. Especially the “News” and “Portfolio”.
Where “click”, it opens a “sub section” of the clicked item and the rest will automatically be pushed down to fit the height of the opened item. And when you clicked on any of the rest of the navigation, it will closed the currently opened item and open the clicked item. And clicked on the scrolled button on the right and see how it scrolled? Amazing work!!
And the portfolio section where “clicked” on the “portfolio”, it “drops” down the sub sections and when either sub sections is clicked, it opens up in the same opened menu with sub sub sections. And when the sub sub section is clicked, it opens yet in the same opened menu with info of it. Isn’t it cool and amazing?
I believe the professionals and experienced here must have done this million times easily but it is the first I came acrossed this! I simply love to learn how to do this!! And seems ActionScript is the only way to do it.
Can anyone gives me some pointers and directions on how to create the “News” and portfolio section? I’ve searched kirupa’s tutorial links for it but can’t find any tutorial that teaches how to create such effect. I’ve searched at other tutorial sites too but maybe beacuse I do not know what such effects are called and I might have overlooked them. I hope someone here can give me pointers and directions on where to learn this? Or Anyone has a tutorial for it or any fla file for it that I can use that as a learning base? I can use it for my school’s project presentation if I managed to learn it!!
I’m so excited by this effect and really want to start working on it asap. :}
