How many of you had to go through the hell for resigning?

Is it that difficult to resign form your workplace without having to listen to a series of long lectures from your boss about ditching the company and loyalty and crap? I mean dont we have a right to move on?

I’m so pissed! So how many of you had to go through the same hell for resigning?

^ how come noone is replying? :frowning: i m curious to know abt about other’s ordeal…People plz reply !!!

Because I haven’t had to go through that yet, and I’m not really looking forward to it

^ok but atleast you can give ur views on the idea…do u think it’s right for the boss to give lectures and try to stop the employee from leaving and calling them disloyal? dont u think it’s everyone’s right to move on??? atleast u can give your views :)…

bah for all those who work for other  big bad bah
> drunk post so dont take me seriously lol

Take it as a compliment, basically your boss is saying “You’re a valuable asset” – If you sucked, he wouldn’t have protested.

^ yeh but if the boss says a series of nasty things like u r being disloyal and are ditching the company then thats not really good boost. Its also not good when they try to put you down by saying a series of crap of being ungrateful and stuff…i mean if i want to leave for whatever reason , cant i do so? dont i have a right?

Yes you have that right. That’s the beauty of a capitalist democracy. Don’t let it get to you.

Well it depends on how you resign did you give 2 weeks notice?

If you did then your boss or ex boss is a very unprofessional person I havent had that problem yet thank god but if i ever do and my boss starts talking $h!t I will just quit then and there and tell them that because of his unprofessionalism I am quitting right now, your not obligated to give them 2 weeks notice you quit when you want to.

But I always suggest you give 2 weeks notice you never know where you might be tomorrow and whos gonna be there willing to help you out.

Good luck man and dont worry about it apparently you were a valueable asset thats why hes so p!ssed off.

^haha grimdeath…u r talking about two weeks, two months advance notice has been given so as to finish all pending work, still they are not making it easy:(

Well if thats the case he should tell his current boss listen I wanna make my last few days productive ones and if this is the kind of behavior I’m gonna be working with I’d rather make my renunciation effective immediately.

Im sure he will swallow his words if your that important of an asset, since you are being very professional and he is not.

good luck :thumb:

its apparently footsie’s one of the best friend and thats causing more problem and the reason she is leaving is also weird…i doubt if she’s ready to share it here or not but in a way its good…imagine ur boss ringing you for whatever work at 1 am in the morning and talking till an hour or so…i’v get so pissed off, i used to work in a company and they were really professional, had a bit of problem but just asked me to stay one week after they appoint a new candidate as HOD of designing / multimedia department, i actually took an interview of my replacement, guided him for a week and then left…me and director of the company are still professional friends…Leave if you want to but theres a limit of hearing all that bullcrap about being disloyal or whatever they say…if i ever faced those problems in that company i’d have not been there to help and appoint a replacement, i’d have leave without salary even…

If that would be the case for me and they’d act like that, I’d just leave without a word. Two months is enough already and if they can’t appreciate that, well…then they don’t deserve any more of my time.

ditto, i mean i posted the same above

^ hey jas, y do u think i made sameer start this thread!!! err lets stick to sameer…i m representing him for obvious reasons ;). U r so going to get me screwed.:stuck_out_tongue:

:devious:

Sounds like a rubbish boss, when I handed my notice in, he asked “why?”, I told him “due to money and a looking for more exciting work”…15 minutes later he offered me more money…thats a much better way to get your staff to stay rather than telling them they’re a rubbish person for being unloyal. Loyality isn’t such a big issue anymore unless your boss has gone outside the box to help you, why should you go out of your way for him/her?

I often get the “valuable asset lecture”, but thats life. If your boss doesn’t see it coming then chances are they’ll want to talk to you and try and keep you (unless your not wanted  ) At the end of the day the 30min lecture is 30minutes of not working and staring into oblivion. Just sit back and except it, explain your desire/position and angle, just be nice about it “I’d like to stay, I like everyone here, but its A:not enough money B:too far from home C:I’m moving D: not enough of a challenge”, and then you keep your reference sweet.

As everyone says its a compliment too, even if you are being slagged off

doosro ke kandhe par bandook chalane wale bahut hote hai, ek dhoondo hazaro milte hai :rambo: :rambo: :rambo:

^ yaar kabhee tau serious mood mein rehnay do mujhay :stuck_out_tongue:

everytime i told my ex-bosses i was gonna quit they seemed happier than ever…
dunno which is better… :sure:
