I’m designing CD artwork for a fictional artist/band for my art class in school. I have to design everything from the shape of the case (which will be all card) right down to the typography.
What I’m looking for is some guidance in designing the shape of the case. I want it to be different from most of the other stuff out there at the moment so I don’t just want to make a simple two flap box. I want the shape of the box itself to qualify as a piece of design in itself.
What I’m asking you for are some examples of unusually shaped CD packing, and, in the case of designers posting their own work, if possible a template showing how the design is cut and folded.
