HTML and FLASH

can anybody give a short discription of the differences between HTML and FLASH , or is there anywhere in Internet some basic explanation for dummies.

Thanks

HTML = hypertext markup language - a basic way of displaying text/images on the internet in a web browser

FLASH = streaming vector based drawing/animation program that generates files that are typically small and easy to download if the viewer has the plugin in their browser.

FLASH and HTML are very different and you must have some HTML to even get flash to display on a person’s computer via the web.

Actually thats the only thing that ties HTML to FLASH when you boil it down.

http://www.starspiderdancing.net/htmlhelp/ – html explanation, dont know how good but i found a link!

http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/ – Macromedia the makers of flash - explanations to what the product is

thanx a lot for the help

the reason i asked for this is i am building a splash page and i am going to to have an option to choose between html or Flash also i am going to put a help menu with a brief explanation for those who don’t know what html and flash mean. good idea isn’t ?

I dont know if thats the way that i would handle it but, if your audience is people who want to learn more about flash then i might do it that way.

glad i could help.
