Hyperlinking .swf file in Front Page

My .swf file is onmy page and everything looks fine, except I can’t hyperlink it. When I edit it in Front Page it says it is hyperlinked. When I roll the mouse over it in normal view, it says it’s hyperlinked…but when I preview the page or browse it on line there is no hyperlink.

Any feed back would be appreciated. I already downloaded Jimco’s Flash Plugin.

Thanks and have a great day.:flower:

I think I know what you are doing you are taking it of the your hardrive and linking it to that.Well what you have got to do is link it to a page so you upload it to tripod , geocities or brinkster or any other web space with the file manager and then the file you have uploaded you have to link it to the URL of that page NOT your harddrive.

TELL ME IF THIS HELPS

If you mean making your Flash movie a link, you cannot do that via HTML. You have to create a button inside your movie itself and add actions to the button to do what you want to do.

It is uploaded to my server. I am linking to an external url.

Here is the page where the flash file is located, this is an adult site so if you aren’t legal or would be offended do not go here:
“never mind abou the url, didn’t realize it would not be suitable for this board, candy”

I am trying to link the .swf to:
“never mind abou the url, didn’t realize it would not be suitable for this board, candy”

The flash file is the first small button with red grahics, for Extreme Paychecks. If you roll your mouse over the image it says it’s hyperlinked.

In the next response it is explained I have to edit the properties of the movie. I only have Front Page. I got the .swf and html file for this flash off the site I am sponsoring. I’ve played around with the active x controls in Front Page, is there a way to edit the hyperlink in Front Page as I do not have a Flash program. Front Page allows me to edit the hyperlink but it really isn’t linked.

Thanks, any other feed back would be great.

Nope, I don’t believe there is any way to make a .swf file a link on it’s own.

Thanks, went with a gif for now. It’s a bigger file, trying to avoid it. I’ll get a Flash Editor soon. Does Dream Weaver edit Flash? I’ve had the program for a while. A friend gave it to me but I just got so comfortable with front Page I never tried it. I think it does edit flash, hmmm?

Thanks again and have a great 3 day weekend.

You would need the original .fla file and Macromedia Flash.

I appreciate the help from this board, however, is not necessary to post this in bold after every message I post. I made an honest mistake, you are making it out to seem as if I am a brainless disobedient tart:

“KIRUPA: Adult links are not acceptable on the forums.”

So kindly refrain from posting your narrative after every thing I post.

Regards, Candy

Never mind, I got rid of it.

Yeah, it was kirupa that edited it to remove the link and left the message there about why he deleted it.

I deleted the hyperlinks in my above message myself when I found out every one of my messages was followed by:
“KIRUPA: Adult links are not acceptable on the forums.”

If you notice I followed both editied hyperlinks with my name, Candy to acknowledge that I myself realized my mistake. I am not concerned about it anyway.

But that is because my homepage is an adult site and my signature had my homepage in it also. My homepage was changed to Disney and my signature was changed to:

“KIRUPA: Adult links are not acceptable on the forums.”

So naturally it was after every one of my posts. Any way, all is well, my signature and profile have been updated to reflect a more tastful persona. I have updated my homepage to alternate page I have on aol. So it is suitable for all viewers.

I can appreciate that this site does not allow adult material, however, my signature did not have to be edited to make me look like a malicious offender.

My profile states the facts about me. These are the facts and however agreeable or disagreeable, there are no links to adult material nor any use of profanity, so I do not anticipate any further editing of my profile.

Again, this is getting of subject anyway. I came here to get help on some flash file. So I appreciate the help I received at this forum. I am however and always will be an Adult Webmaster and an Adult Entertainer. Stating those facts should not pose a threat and any further manipulation of the facts in my profile would be an infringment on my freedoms. And I misspelled “pronography” in my profile on purpose.

Regards.

Hey shag,
I edited your sig and failed to realize that after ever post your info would be displayed. No offense intended!

Cheers!
