I just recently downloaded Ubuntu 7.04 and put it on my laptop and I am impressed!
I have a dual boot between windows and Ubuntu and im pretty sure I will be using Ubuntu most of the time 
I am also playing with the 3d cude and the other neat effects
Luckily for me i did some searching for some Linux alternative applications before switching

Now in version 6.10 my wireless was automatically installed, Hopefully it will be the same in Version 7.04
