The problem basically said that there is a right triangle and the opposite side is 100 feet. Also the angle is 28 degrees.
Because tangent is the ratio of opposite to adjacent, i decided to plug that in for the angle given. That yielded roughly .28 (so opposite is .28 and adjacent is 1).
Anyway, I know that the opposite side is 100 and the ratio is .28
So thusly, I did the calculations and found that the adjacent side should be 357.14
This makes perfect sense to me, but the website said the adjacent side is actually 188!
I’m really confused, and I’ve never taken a trig class so that might be a problem.
