I’m thinking of changing my Desktop for a new one, i want to build mine from scratch but, i will also consider a pre built one.

ABSOLUTLY NESSESARY: ATI X800 Video Card, Processor: 2.5+ Intel
Memory: 512mb to 1 Gb
Hard drive 80GB is fine

Now since that’s alot in itself i will need a mother board, capable to handle that. I’ve considered also getting a Desktop from voodoo but that will be obviously too much for me.
The reason is so i can play DOOM III, my Desktop runs like a slug on Pot when i play it on Low res low Quality.
Don’t worry about the case, but if you guys can help me build a Desktop with that Amount of mney it will be great!

You’ll probably be better off building it yourself, for I’m not sure if 3rd party PC makers will offer such quality items for under 1500 without short-changing you somewhere else
I know i have a tight budget that’s why, i’m only gonna have a job for another 2weeks, so over all i’m gonna get 500 bucks, and from then i’m gonna sell my old comp, and then probibly get some more money doing some part time job.
$1500 is a huge budget if you’re building your own computer. Let’s do some calculation:
150 - Decent motherboard
150 - Decent CPU (AMD)
80 - SB Audigy
200 - ~1 GB RAM
400 - Top O’ the line video card
100 - Good case
200 - 200 GB HDD
80 - DVD writer (Dual-Layer, too)
40 - Accessories (thermal paste, CPU/Case fans, etc)
$1400
That is a really good set up and you’re still $100 short of your $1500. With that amount left over you could do one of many things, for example:

I would seriously consider building your own PC if you’ve got $1500 to do it with.
And you don’t necessarily need a P4 to play Doom 3; it will end up costing you more in the end since the CPUs are much more than AMDs. I’ve got an Athlon 2600+ (~2 Ghz) with a Geforce4 ti-4600 and I’m averaging 30 FPS at 1024x768 (Medium Quality, no AA) and 640x480 (Ultra Quality, 2x AA).
Also, Nvidia cards have outperformed ATIs in Doom3, since ATIs aren’t as good at doing OpenGL as Nvidias. Do some research, you’ll see.
$1500 should be more than enough money…heck, I’m pretty sure I could build a good machine for under $1000 (but I get my parts for dealer’s cost ).
Now all you have to do is spend hours and hours scouring the internet looking for quality parts from a reputable distributor for a decent price…good luck!

Wanted to get a flatscreen too but they cost about £250 so i think ill leave it for a bit anyway…
