IE SP2 Flash Problem?

I have installed SP2 and everything seems fine… however if I go to macromedia.com or some other sites that uses Flash detection it wont show the flash.

But if I go to a site that just has flash in the document, it shows fine… so it’s not an issue with Active-X…

Any suggestions…

Just wondering, are you able to view http://www.kirupa.com? I use a flash detection script on the home page. I am guessing you are able to view Flash animations on the forum without any issues.

When I go to kirupa.com it says to install Flash (takes me to http://www.kirupa.com/noflash2.htm)

But if I go to forums I can see the flash nav at the top and so on…

Ok - try to see what happens when you visit this site: http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash It may update your Flash player, but I am not sure why the redirects are causing an issue for you. Have you tried adjusting your Internet Security settings?

Go to Tools | Internet Options. Click the tab for Security and press the Custom Level button. Try to ensure that you have Medium selected in the drop-down menu, and/or press the Reset button to rest your security settings.

I’ve got the newest Flash Plugin 7,0,19,0

It will play on most sites, but for Macromedia’s homepage, kirupa’s homepage, and a few others that use flash redirect…

I have no idea why it isn’t working then :frowning: There may be some setting that is preventing your computer from sending data about whether you have the Flash Player or not, but I hope that the other, more security-savvy people have a solution for you!

I would submit this to MM tech pple…

my flash detect is working correctly…perhaps try to clear your cache and then reload the pages?

also uninstall the flash plugin and reinstall it.
