I’m having trouble with the Flash Player displaying non-vector images of large dimension (ex:1643X400 pixels). The image file imports into Flash and appears in the authoring environment just fine. When I view the resulting .swf file, the image appears fine as well, so long as it has not been converted to a symbol. When I turn the image into a Graphic symbol, it still appears fine in the authoring environment, however it appears as a large horizontal smear in the Flash Player.
I noticed this happening when either:
(1) the image is converted to a symbol
or
(2) another copy of the image is placed alongside the original image
This happens with large .jpg as well as .bmp files.
Is there a limit to the dimensions of a symbol or an object?
One option I have is to break apart the original image into separate images, but that would be a pain if I have to do several of these. It would be nice to only have to work with a single image.
If anyone has any information about this bug or a simple solution to it, please let me know.
Thank you.
