I got a question regarding fonts, especially in regards to file size. The font I want to use for my buttons, I am sure most people don’t have on their computers. Creating the button in, say Fireworks, and exporting it, or embedding the font? Can anyone share their experiences?

If you are saving the fireworks buttons as say JPG’s, you’ll get a lot smaller a file size off of that method than embeding them in an SWF. On the other hand, you can create them in Flash, break the text apart, and retain that font without embeding. This will usually produce the smallest file size of all your options, however if the font is particularly complex, it may not.
best bet… play around with all of your options and see which one makes the smallest sized files.
