Importing Video into Flash Question

Does anyone know why when I import an 852kb Quicktime Video file into the library in Flash as an embedded video clip, the video then becomes 16259kb?

this video is super low res but it is making my SWF gigantic! is there a way i can compress it better with flash? do i need MX2004?

2

MX2004 does have better compression tools. For MX you have 3rd party apps like sorenson squeeze (which is nice). Going from 852kb to 16259kb does seem like an unusual jump though, even for the basic Flash importer. :-\
