I have photoshop and I am trying to blur text using pt.30 and Arial font.
I can blur the text fine, but if I save as .gif with “transparent” checked, the bluring effect is lost ot just comes out looking odd.
Is there anyway I can save the blurred text effect with a transparent background in either .bmp, .gif. or .jpg format? (or anything else that will import to flash)
I have PSP7 also, so if I can do it in that please tell me how. Cheers.
I’ll tell you what man, just go to the store - pick up the Nicest, Biggest, Best computer you can find - go the teller, PAY for it and that my friend, is your prize.
Guig0, .png images are more processor intensive than transparent .gif images, but in this case… a .png image with transparent background is what is needed
If it can be avoided with a transparent .gif, I say go with that since it will be smaller file size and easier on the computer
It takes more mostly if your .png image will have some areas of partial transparency (sorta like an _alpha on part of the image, but not on others) and Flash has to read that info and the computer has to translate and process it.
Yeah, what I usually do is create a canvas with a transparent background and draw as normal.
But if I have anything where I drop the opacity, or it fades out or whatnot you can’t export as a .gif otherwise it will automatically place a white background on those areas, even if you choose to save transparency, so in that case .png is better for that situation.
well… the file type is not the problem but… what if I opened a picture file and it has a black background and I want to paint transparent… or sth like that
If it is a .psd file you can just delete the background layer so the background is transparent, then use the eraser to draw.
If is is an image file, you have to open it up, copy and paste it into a new file (sometimes I find myself unable to edit an opened image file) and then delete the background layer (or start out with one) and use the eraser to draw.
