I have a neat, new domain name in the works (or rather, a new branding for my freelance services). I really love it, but it is already taken by another small creative group in Arizona. They have the URL without a hyphen, but they have since renamed their company to a new brand and redirect traffic to that new domain.
I am wanting to know if I were to use the name with a hyphen between the two words , do you think I will have less leads to the website because of it?
Example:
I have all of my print material show the URL www.name-here.com. Do you think that people will accidentally go to www.namehere.com instead? Will it make it confusing if you were a visitor? I’m not sure if I’m asking the question correctly, so just tell me if you would naturally remember to use a hyphen when typing in a URL, or if you think I should bid to buy out the www.namehere.com domain from the current owners.
Let me know if you’re confused with my question…
