Internet Explorer 6/7 and the improper loading of external files [AS2]

Hi all,

I’ve spent a while trying to figure out what this one is, but am unsure what to do now.
Let me explain the problem as best I can…

I have a series of movies and external files (.swf and .jpg), strung together using the loadMovieNum command.
I’ve used CS3 to create the movies, using AS2, exporting for Flash player 6.

In my testing the only problems I have had are with IE 6 and 7 on Windows.
All other browsers (Mac and PC) seem to work just fine.

In Internet Explorer the problems that I have are as follows:
[]when reloading the page, the video no longer seems to be accessible.
[
]After a certain point in the video sequence, Flash no longer seems to load certain external files via loadMovieNum (even if they have been loaded and displayed before). I cannot seem to find any pattern or logic to this, as it seems to work initially for some files, then doesn’t display them, and then shows them again later.
Initially I thought that this might be a fault on my part within the files. But nothing I’ve done has been able to fix the problem.

What’s more, I’ve just found that it seems to play OK when you open the file directly (e.g. type the URL of the first SWF file into the browser), but not when it is called up from a page. I’ve tried creating a new page using the default Flash publish code, but this results in the same problems.

It would seem that this is not a version problem with Flash, as I’ve tried a number of versions ranging from 6 to the very latest.

Has anyone else had a similar issue? I can provide URLs and files for those keen to take a look.

**Any thoughts?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, as I have no idea where to go at this point.**
