I’ve been getting the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bluescreen and also encountered a DRIVER_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bluescreen on my laptop. I read up on the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and heard that this bluescreen can occur overheating, which if is really occuring is quite worrying.
The bluescreen occurred right after I finished playing GTA3. Well I finished playing the game, and closed the laptop and when I opened it about 25 minutes later there was the IRQL error.
My specs are:
1 GB RAM
Radeonx1400 HyperMemory Video Card
T2500 @ 2.0 GHZ
The computer is barely a month old.
Because I do a bit of gaming I installed the omega driver, the modified ati drivers for laptops in my case. That resolved some of the issues I was having running games, including a bluescreen I used to get while playing a certain game. However I’ve noticed that graphical flaws started to appear like little black bars on my desktop, or even once when I was shutting down there was a whole black box cut out of the windows is shutting down logo. These graphical flaws never happen while I’m playing a game and happen quite erratically while I’m browsing windows with no pattern or consistency in their appearance whatsoever. Additionally now I’m getting this IRQL warning.
So I’m thinking that both the video flaws, possibly a refresh rate issues, and the overheating is probalby associated with the installation of the Omega drivers which has a huge multitude of video card settings. Are there any particular settings I should check/uncheck on the ATI tray tools that could avoid such problems? Or should I uninstall the Omega drivers completely and take an alternative route such as patching the Original ATI drivers from the ATI site with the laptop patcher patje (http://www.driverheaven.net/patje/ )?
Thanks in advance,
