Is there a better way to parallax?

I’m using this parallax script to create my sites navigation.

For the most part, it’s ideal for what i need. One problem however is that the code is very CPU intensive with all the “onClipEvent” handlers.

It’s giving me slow playback and also believe causing a few bugs with my other code.

Does anyone have a more efficient way of achieving this?
