first of all, the splash screen sucks and i am going to change it.
anyway, i made this portfolio site (still under contruction, i need to construct outside loading content files). i want a full screen site, but the parallax effect i tried out using modified mouse-follow code from the kirupa site is really cpu intensive with these large tiles. on my A64 4000+ it gets choppy when i run it full screen, and i can barely run it on my girlfriend’s laptop (then again, webfeats is choppy on her computer, and it’s pretty easy on the cpu).
what would be a good way to make this run more smoothly? more efficient code? chopping up the pieces? just making the whole thing smaller?
i want to keep the fullscreen effect, but i suppose i’d settle for widescreen.
