2nd one is better. But I can see this is going to be a beast on bandwidth. Looks good tho.

This is kind of a fun project that I have total control over because it’s for friends and I’m getting paid 1/20th of what I’d normally charge. lol. The control part is fun; not the low pay btw hehe.
very cool - what others have said - and perhaps work on the bright spots in the wood to round them out - i think you did a great job tho man.
In general, I like the second one better. The right side looks better, and I really like the new font at the top, and the top right is better. Bottom right doesn’t look like it needs to be darker anymore (maybe you changed it, maybe it’s because of the stuff around it – im not sure). I like the left side image on the first one better though. For some reason that guy is throwing me off on the second one, it doesn’t look realistic. All in all though, great layout

Thanks PR. Which bright spots specifically are you referring to? I mean now that I’m looking at it on my laptop the area behind the stereo looks horrible but other than that the wood looks fine to me. Anyone else think that the lighting on the wood is inconsistent?
lol Brad. Yea that guy is my good friend and he throws everyone off. I think the last layout will be what you see after you click on the audio button. I plan on making the stereo come to life with some light and speaker vibration animation.
I agree that the right side looks better and that’s where you fellas come in. I’m having a tough time thinking of cool goodies that I can put on the left side. I think I’m going to make pretty much every object on the page do something when clicked or rolled over. For example, rolling over the beer bottles will knock them over and rolling over that guy on the left will make him play some mean chords (I’ll animate his playing hand and maybe throw in a scream or something explicit).
I’ve said too much and now I’m going to have to terminate you Yelly. lol
CG maybe you can rotate the corners of the movie to save bandwidth… 
I like version two. I think it definately needed a bg texture. You might want to try playing with the blending on the navigation fonts. I don’t think they really stand out. Maybe they could look embossed in and a lighter color. Not sure how they do things up in Canadaland, but some state park signs look like that kind of wood you have and the letters are like pressed in and a light color, maybe a cracked paint kind of style…

i think that maybe the dropshadows are too much on the plank navigation, also on the main banner above - like its got this pure wood feel, then in those places it feels kind of like “plastic wood” -
maybe if you made your lighting a different color?

CG well that text was written on before the photo shoot with pen. Might be hard to acheive that with your design, but you crazy good with da PS mang!

P.S. You forgot your passcode? We have a strict policy with passcodes. See normally once a passcode is lost you destory that passcode and create another, but then we have to create more passcodes. So what we do is destroy who evers passcode it was and then we know that anybody who uses it should be shot dead on the spot.

Thanks nj. I didn’t use any filters to make the wood. For this I took a picture of a piece of wood and then adjusted the color and grunged it up a little using grunge brushes. If you look closely you might be able to see that all the wood was created from one piece.
That has got to be the gayest thing I have seen…really third rate.
