IT Jobs At Churchill

For anyone in the UK that’s interested, Churchill have just posted some IT based vacancies… Not web design I’m afraid (that’s my job :slight_smile: ) but for anyone interested in more hardware based issues, might be helpful. :slight_smile:

<b>Installations Engineer</b>

For this role you will need the following:-

Good technical knowledge of Cabling Systems
Good understanding data networking principles.
Good understanding of Local and Wide area networks for both data and voice.
Good understanding of PBX and ACD principals of operation.
Some understanding of PC and Server systems.
Good understanding of Electrical, UPS, Fire Fighting and Air Conditioning systems and the related ISO or BS standards on computing environments.

Responsibilities:-

To undertake or manage the day to day tasks involved in specific project activities.
To liase with the nominated Group Facilities representative on specific projects to ensure activities are co-ordinated.
To liase with the nominated business mangers to ensure that IT fit-outs meet business requirements.

<b>Infrastructure Analyst</b>

Department:

The department is the IT Infrastructure Development and has 2 primary roles. The first is the evaluation and implementation of new tools and technologies to take the business forward and give the Churchill Group the competitive edge within the market place. The second is the 2nd and 3rd line support of existing system, applications and technologies.

Purpose of Role:

This is to provide 2nd and 3rd level support for the Oracle and specified non-Oracle Toolsets on all of the Churchill Group hardware platforms. This will include application fault rectification of existing systems, the evaluation, documentation and implementation of new toolset technologies.

<b>Application Developer</b>

Background:

EFinancials 2.2 is the current general ledger package for the Churchill group. EFinancials is an intranet enabled package using Oracle Forms6i, Pro*C, and PLSQL. The system runs on the Sun Solaris operating system.

Profile

PLSQL / SQL - 1 years experience
Pro*C - 6 months experience
Oracle Forms 6i - Training using CBT and if necessary a third party training course if a successful applicant does not have this skill.
Informix SQL - This is required to help support the BMS system. The BMS system is a third party developed system that is run in the Churchill Accident Repair Centres. This system interfaces with the General Ledger system in many ways. Training by members of the existing team will be given once the successful applicant has completed Oracle SQL training.
A good working knowledge of the principles of accounting - Training by an external course will be given if necessary.
A thorough knowledge of the EFinancials system - this knowledge will be gained from existing members of the team and user community, and also if necessary through external courses.
Ability to develop reports in ODBC ad hoc reporting tools – training will be in the form of CBT and training by other members of the team.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
