Jeopardy!: $2 Million Dollars+ Winner - Ken Jennings!

For some reason, this reminds me of the movie Groundhog Day

If Ken Jennings were to ever lose though, I don’t think I’ll be able to watch Jeopardy again :frowning: He won again by a large margin again. It isn’t just that he wins each game, it’s that he earns so much before the final round, that his opponents have no chance of catching up to him even if they doubled their amount of money.

i dunno how he lost, but he did

sorry, I’ve missed this thread in a while, can somebody fill me in on how long he’s been winning/and if he’s ever lost?

I’m quite sure he won’t get happy with all that money.
If he is clever he will spare the money (the whole money)

else we will see him again.
In 4 years there will be a Ken Jennings Report on one of the smaller channels:
“Ken Jennings - the Jeopardy guy” or how he lived a great life with a high life standart - got lost in people’s memory, became depressive, couldn’t afford the high life standart,…

the fatal thing about fame is - someone who came out of nowhere won’t be known for long.
and the sad thing about an extraordinary good moment in life is you probably won’t reach something as high again.

He won Game 43 today. I don’t think they tape that many games in advance tucker. I think Jeopardy games are recorded earlier in the morning/afternoon and shown later…kinda like Leno? :stuck_out_tongue:

it was on FOX! =p

bah id go search fox.com but im on dialup and im dling something large :frowning:

I believe they tape the whole weeks worth on the weekend (or maybe the monday of) before the airing.

Hmm - it seems like there are a lot of rumors about that: http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ned=us&q=Ken+Jennings

It’s weird though, for in today’s show, Alex was talking about today being Friday and the first week of the new season, and he asked what Ken did for the 1 month or so holiday.

Could have just been an act.

Guess we’ll find out in one month  I think we all need to take a fieldtrip to Ken’s work/home and see if he is indeed back from the Jeopardy studios.

This is great:

DECEMBER. Ken earns his fifth million. A rival brings War and Peace and reads during show, saying he’s tired of wasting time. Millions throughout the world ring in 2005 watching Ken’s face, which has replaced the ball that drops from the top of the tower of 1 Times Square. Ratings rise.

JANUARY. Ken wins sixth million. Begins to show signs of boredom. Plays a game standing on his head; another blindfolded; another in which he phrases his responses in iambic pentameter; another in which he refuses to give any answers that contain the letter e. Loses $16,000 when Final Jeopardy! answer (in the category Long Words Having to Do with Money) turns out to be eleemosynary; still wins. Ratings increase.

MAY. Ken continues to win but is forced to work at it. Longtime Jeopardy! watchers suspect that Ken’s challengers are not so randomly chosen anymore. In the closest game in Ken’s run, Ken barely edges Bob and Judy, a middle-aged couple from Milwaukee, Wis., who perform strongly in such categories as Bob and Judy’s Children, Bob and Judy’s Finances, The Little Things Bob and/or Judy Do That Really Annoy Bob and/or Judy, and Who Are These People in the Pictures in Bob and Judy’s Photo Albums? Ken still wins. Ratings slide.

JUNE. After a week of special Jeopardy! challenge programs in which Ken on successive days defeats the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the European Parliament, the faculty of Beijing University (the first Jeopardy! game played entirely in Chinese) and the Council on Foreign Relations, Ken’s amazing run comes to a close as security agents from Microsoft apprehend Ken in a parking lot and whisk him back to company headquarters in Redmond, Wash. “He was something a couple of the guys were messing around with and kind of forgot about,” a company spokesman said. “He wasn’t supposed to be out yet.”
