KOTOR killing PC's?

while playing Knights of the Old Republic, during the part where you first board the Ebon Hawk and need to shoot the Sith ships, my computer dies. It freezes, and shows an error message saying so, then that freezes. When I reboot, it says “Windows has just recovered from a serious error” or something to that effect…then asks if i want to send Microsoft an error report.

I don’t think its performance…I have P4 3.0ghz, 510mb o’ ram, ATi Radeon 9200 128mb video card, DirectX 9.0b (required for KOTOR), etc. etc. etc.

anyone know whats wrong?

(I contacted support.lucasarts.com, and no reply yet:m: )

Check for patches first of all and look on KOTOR forums, if you experienced it, probably others have too. DX9c is out, so update to that for the hell of it, also, make sure your video card driver is up to date.

ok ill try…thx

Fixed yet? I gave up playing it (just like american army) because my gameplay got choppy…I could play for 40 minutes long, then have a big 3 minute freeze in which the computer registered everything that happened but my screen didn’t show it–so I basically ended up dead…

Frustrating. I click uninstall :stuck_out_tongue:
When I get my new comp thursday, this won’t happen anymore :slight_smile:

I have KotOR and it has never frozen or died for me.

KotOR = pwn x 10
