So my girlfriend has this three year old Micron laptop.
A few months ago it would sporadically take a charge. The charge light would come on, then off she would fiddle with it and then it would come back.
Now it’s not charging at all and the battery has worn down.
Everything I read online suggests that the power connector on the motherboard has a broken or bad solder joint. I’ve never dealt with laptop hardware issues before but tonight I am going to try and tear it open and see if I can locate anything screwy and try to re-solder it.
Anyone have any experience with this? Anything I should be looking for?
The laptop is not worth much, out of warante and the lowest quote I got to have someone take a look at it was $200 with no guarantees. So I figure what the hell I will give it a shot.
