Laptop vs tablet pc

Good timing.
Been doing an XP Rollout at work, and had to choose new hardware for 3000 staff (most of them lawyers - agghh).

The one we chose was the HP Compaq tablet. It was the most robust one we could find. It had the best scratch pad and had the best components.

Compaq was also the first to do the tablets. They may not have been the first to release but when Bill Gates had Microsoft push the idea in the first place he contracted Compaq to make one for MS. In essense the Tablet version of XP has been designed to run on a Compaq. if that helps any.

Personally however if you want to know, i dont think they are any good. Nice to look at, but processing power isn’t fantastic etc and for a designer I think you might want to look at expandability too. There are some minor limitations to the tablets (though dissapearing now through use of docking).

The other good thing about the compaq one is that it has an 8 hr battery life standard.
