Undoubtedly, Tablet PCs aren’t much known as laptops are, but they’ve proven useful for classes as well as for sketching (You’re going to see many stuff posted in the next couple of weeks!)
My unit is made by LG… (The model # is LT20-154U1) and it is available in Canada, but not in the US… Well, in the US, you can get the toshiba unit, or Motion Computing’s slate tablet pc.

If anyone is seriously considering a notebook purchase soon, s/he should consider tablets too.
yeah, tablet pc’s rock, ditch your notebook, ditch your pen, even ditch your $5,000 laptop, go for the tablets! (i mean the digital notebok kinda thingy, not drugs)
Preloaded with Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition (Which has the same functionality of Windows XP Pro, but also includes Handwriting recognition function along with speech recognition)
windows xp tablet pc edition, allows input using a pen and has all the features of windows xp pro, i think theres a linux build for them as well but you’d have to install that yourself
As for the durability , I have no idea. I cannot directly compare it to a regular laptop as I never had one before. However, The convertable tablet PCs have a strong central hinge (ie. toshiba M200) which is much better than regular laptops’ open/close mechanism.
