Large Flash File Difficulties!

Hello,

I’ve recently created a new media Flash presentation about 10 minutes in length, 800 x 600 in size and the .swf is about 50mb. It runs fine for the first 8-9 minutes then dies. It seems to just kill the RAM for some reason. Am I missing something? Should I have a preloader at the beginning of the movie? I’ve tried exporting it as an .exe but it doesn’t help? HOw come large files like downloaded movies off the internet don’t do this?

thanx,
m@

10 minutes in length for a single .swf file is rather long.
Most of the movies seen on the web pull individual (smaller) movie clips into a main movie clip (timeline). This way you are pulling small files as needed.

you could try putting a preloader on the first frame, but 10 minutes is still pretty long for one file.
