Layout for an artist

could you please look and tell me what you thinkk of the layout.

colors are great! but there could be a lot more done for an artist’s website!

preferably both but the layout could have a lot more incorporated into it, may be some of his/her work’s into the design! but atm it looks more like a layout for a blog! or a personal site

The layout is fine I guess. Couldn’t see anything too special about it though,

I agree with spark on incorporating other design elements. The gradient background works but some well drawn, well placed figures could do wonders.

Thanks. Yes more will probably get incorporated into the site, but the images of her work will be kept in the galleries pages. When it comes to actual content, then I suppose that will be up to the artist.

well, i think it needs a lot of work. the whole design just looks boring. coming to a homepage that has “ALWAYS TELL THE TRUTH, BUT WHAT IS THE TRUTH?” followed by a bunch of text doesn’t get me excited to see the rest of the site. so here’s how i see it.

negative:

  • boring.
  • no impact images even though it’s an artist’s site.
  • text with differnet color for the first letter is distracting and hard to read.

positive:

  • looks easy to navigate.
  • renders well in IE, FF, and opera.

there’s not a whole lot to say b/c it’s very blah.

bwh2, I know what you are saying. The text thats on the page is just there from her old site and I think she will have some proper homepage text when she gets around to doing it. I am also waiting for her to send me images of her work.
