I tried to keep the site clean and simple so it didn’t over shadow the students work.
There’s blank spaces on some pages, that’s because the student hasnt sent me the work. Also, I haven’t quite finished testing it on the PC so there maybe slight errors.
The artist-scrollbar took some getting used to… at first i really hated it - why couldn’t the ■■■■ thing stand still? Then i began thinking the fault was in me, drinking myself stupid.
I never understood what the site was about (are they students? your padawans?), but some of the work featured was really great.
The fruits put me off, as i thought those were the navigation items, which they weren’t. Was it intentional to put the same fruits in the ‘header’ as in the ‘footer’? I find it a little disturbing. The header is too similar to the artist-nav imo. I also think the artist-nav is a little out of place…maybe it could inherit the space from the bottom fruits? Or something.
The text is maybe a little uninspired too… It’s basically a manual on how to use the website, which really isn’t needed, which is a good thing. Maybe you could incorporate the ‘footer’ message into the welcome message, and loose the explanations. Then you’d have less text, which is also a good thing (in this case).
And, as darkmotion said, find another place for your comments box. It’s not front page material.
Hm. I may have commented on every element here…:elderly:
