dont forget that the whole point of this battle is to produce an rpg character, not the marketing designs for an rpg game
on another note: I should be posting my entry tomorrow… since I’m going on holiday tomorrow evening. Unfortunately it’s only 1 character (as opposed to the proposed 3) but… hopefully you’ll like it
well… backgrounds are fine… since they’re part of ‘an image’ - you seem to be missing the point of the battle… it is to create a character for an rpg… and put them in an image (be it a white background, or some elaborately detailed battle scene with thousands of troops. at no point has anyone asked for “a full product, box art, screen shots of gameplay and/or menus, etc” - how are people going to judge your work against others? They’ll either think: ‘wow, this guy has done LOADS of work!’ and vote for you… or the more observant will think: ‘wow, this guy has done LOADS of work! But it’s not what was asked for…’ and hence will not vote for you. It just wouldn’t be fair to ask people to pick imo… well… I’d hope that most people would recognise the fact that you didnt do what was asked… :sigh:
if you want to do a big marketing campaign battle using this same theme - go and set it up - this is not the same battle, nor should it encompass ‘a big marketing campaign’.
Subject: “Legend of Kirupa: The RPG”. Please make sure your entry reflects this theme in some way, and is also in the anime / manga style.

It’s a difficult call. Branding etc was never mentioned in the original ideas, it was more about drawing a vector / line art based image around an RPG theme…
ok… well… we could argue it a different way: you’re allow one image. if you want to try and fit all that stuff into a 500x500 pixel image… you’re welcome to try

How much Japanese do you know Kit? I dabbled in it when I did a solid two months of anime practically every morning and every night :).
Actually, I didn’t try to learn it all that much and I can’t construct sentences but I can actually understand some basic sentences without trying to translate - guess it all sunk in :beam:. I was focussed more upon the anime… brags a bit more to pass time man I was knackered after that.

I admit, a got a little upset over asphalt’s comments. I was going to make it like an oldschool video game poster, you know, where they put the screenshots and everything up, but I’ve completely revamped concept since then. I was just gonna ditch the contest, but I’ve got a pretty good idea now, so I guess I’ll stick with it.
Started to teach myself at one point… I can’t read katakana and that, but I can speak a few phrases and that.
