Line Art Battle

**Oh, okay. I guess GIF will be okay for me. Before I start on my entry, I have a question. Would a picture of how I imagine myself to look as an anime RPG character fit the theme? **
Yes, this is fine. Take the theme of ā€œLeged of Kirupaā€ in whatever direction you like. For most of us, weā€™re taking members of the forums and turning them into characters.

It doesnā€™t matter what format the file starts out as, you can make it however you want. As long as thereā€™s a web viewable version for the final entry.

Mine is a group picture as well. :beam:

For me a lonewolf is better. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hello!
Can i enter this battle?
It would be my first one if so. :smirk:

-MZA

Of course you can.

Anyone is free to enter, as long as the entry conforms to the given rules and is submitted by the cut off date.

What: Line Art Battle

Subject: ā€œLegend of Kirupa: The RPGā€. Please make sure your entry reflects this theme in some way, and is also in the anime / manga style.

Software: Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Fireworks, Freehand - any art package. You can colour in (if you want colour) however you wish.

Extra Rules: To be drawn in a manga / anime style, though does not have to be coloured if you donā€™t want.

Hi
(1) can I draw it by hand, then scan it in and touch it up with photoshop? :sigh:

(2) By the way I know Kirupa (the guys who founded the site). But what does ā€œRPGā€ mean? Role playing game?

(3) Could the theme just be - make up an RPG character?

Thanks

hi

  1. personally, I drew out my character in pencil and then inked him in photoshop. Im not sure you could get away with a pencil drawing thatā€™s just been ā€œtouched upā€

  2. Yes, RPG is role-playing game. Itā€™s not limited to Kirupa himself - it can be based on anyone on the forums. but they have to be kirupa-relatedā€¦ if you see what I mean

  3. No. In a word

" 2) Yes, RPG is role-playing game. Itā€™s not limited to Kirupa himself - it can be based on anyone on the forums. but they have to be kirupa-relatedā€¦ if you see what I mean"

Sorry Iā€™m actually a bit lost :sigh:

ā€œkirupa relatedā€?, can you give me some examples

Thanks again

Like my entry, itā€™s based on Kitiara a kirupa.com moderator. Your drawing have to be base on people or anithing that is connected with kirupa.com thus kirupa-related!

question: backgrounds allowed?
or just the figure?

-MZA

You can have a background if you want it, but itā€™s not required. You can have characters, but theyā€™re not required.

Basically, itā€™s however you interpret the theme.

Surely youā€™d lose if you didnt have a character?

Not if you had some spectacular way of interpreting the idea without having characters.

I canā€™t think of one right now, but Iā€™m sure there must be a way.

Oh come on people letā€™s see results! :trout:

Mineā€™s nearly done, just need to add another two characters to it.

I sooo want to post whatā€™s done, but I also want to surprise everyone. :stuck_out_tongue:

Blah! Working on it. Anything against multiple submits? Iā€™m actually trying to do it like a full product, box art, screen shots of gameplay and/or menus, etc. Perhaps submit the bundle as one entry?

Gets really excited and currently pulling hair

15 days remaining, luckily.

Yup yup. Iā€™m gonna resist temptation and wait till Iā€™ve finished the picture before I post anything.

Gets really really excited and currently pulling more hair from different parts now

Just picked up a copy of ā€œEven a Monkey Can Draw Magna 1ā€ this weekend. It really doesnā€™t focus as much on technique, but it was a very funny, if not completely too honest look at various types of Magna.

One thing I found that really helped out of that book was the panel that they talk about figure drawing, and that pretty much any pose you would ever need to know about has already been drawn. Find a source and use it as reference if you canā€™t draw bodies.
