The Palm Islands, also reffered to as The Palm, are the world’s two largest man-made islands, which are being built on the cost of the emirate of Dubai, in the UAE (United Arab Emirates). The idea was first announced in May 2002 and the two freehold palm tree-shaped resort islands are expected to maintain Dubai’s position as a premium tourist destination. The project is being handled by Al Nakheel Properties, which will increase Dubai’s shoreline by 120km and create a large number of residential, leisure and entertainment areas. I imagine there’d be a lot of accidental deaths. Depending on the location of course. People falling into the ocean, hurricanes taking out neighbourhoods, etc. I’d be too scared to live there. Unless I was old, with no real goals left in life. Then it might be cool.
yea thats the problem with people in dubai, they have loads of money and no place to spend, i have been to many places allove the world, this city is just so beautiful, amazing buildings, biggest malls.
No, the place is still under construction and will be ready in about 5 years time.Sea is always calm on these areas specially, low tide, there’s no danger living there and plus the company which is handeling this project must have thought about that, i am sure they have some measures to counter that problem(if it ever occurs)
plus many celebrities have already booked a villa here, one of them is david bachem(did i spell it right?)
That place looks really nice I read about this in Wired or Newsweek a while ago. While I am not a big fan of outdoor sunny resorts ( the last thing I need is more of a tan), I can see why it would be a big hit though!
