This is an assignment for stickers to be placed on the back windshield of a couple of lifeguard pickup trucks. Before I submit,
what do the Kirupians think?
woot! I like it!
I think there is too much space above the wave. And the wave does not quite look like a wave. Looks like a curved spike. Although I love the concept it needs a lil TLC. Also make the circle more of an oval to add to the effect also exaggerate the wave a bit…Maybe add a couple of shades of blue to the wave also. Man I have some seriously cool ideas running thru my head for your logo…why cant I do that when i am designing my logos …
yeah i like it, agree with DDD on space…
my eyes were screaming for the text to be inside the circle…
but i like it!
Ok… I think I got it… 1 vs. 2 ?
ok but the logo should be pretty big for ppl to be able to read it now… :-\
Grrrrrr… This is true…hmmmm
Unfortunately I gotta use one colour…
Okay, first off which font?
And do I need to stick it back up top?
mind if I take a crack at your logo?
what program are you using also? Does it have to be one color?
lol jay… yur avatar is perfect for this situation!
3d… he said he has to use one color (-:
maybe use the first version but just make the wave abit bigger… I dunno
Go for it DDD…:thumb:
I am using a very rare program called PhotoShop 7.0 :puzzle:
I am at work, so Freehand is out of reach…
Syko… Your site is cool !!
DDD… What prog did you use for the liquid metal?
huh?..oh my splash? Swift 3d v3…
No way ! Really?
Would you mind telling me briefly how you accomplished that in Swift? Also, where are some good tuts for Swift…?
Great work!

lol… currently making a new one
I also love the quicksilver on 3d’s site! It’s so cool!
hhmmm…let me see if I can find the post where Iexplained how I made that…it is going to be changing soon.
Well i ran out of time (off to a meeting) so I did not finish fully…Here is what I slapped together…I know it aint the best, but maybe it will give you an idea. I can shoot you my ai file if you want.
Very Cool ! Yes the file would be great. Thanks DDD :hr:
On your logo:
Does the logo without the text, say the message it is intended to say? I looks like a wave is crashing down on a some guy, doesn’t nessesarily say lifeguard to everyone
Is the logo transferable to all mediums , big and small. If there is to much detail in the dood then he will look like a blob if it is photocopied small (so will the text). It must recognizable (somewhat) in all forms.
The above post with DDD’s version has a more interesting format, however says very little about the company (is gene a wave maker?). The logo must say EVERYTHING about the company. It is the visual representation of your identity, therefore it must stand alone without text.
On the art:
The art is good, yet I think you need to expand more on what lifeguard can be represented by. Perhaps a wave is to predictable. For instance. The logo for the lifeguards up here is a red cross with a wave like shape cutting through it. That says both medical security and the fact that it has to do with water. You have water, and a man standing under it. And a lot of people may not be able to figure out what he is holding might designate him as a lifeguard. Especially if it is printed small. The art that you have is good, but you could convey the message a little more effectively. I would pick a different font too. The blue too is a little generic, experiment.
Tip: when I am looking for colour combos I go to http://www.behr.com, and look at their colour matcher flash thingy. It is for painting houses but it still translates nicely into design.
In summary, think of the message, you are off to a good start!
Cheers
If its for a sticker then it will have some transparant bits won’t it. In which case i think its fine!
The bottom logo but the top font! then it will be all fine and dandy.
Thanks for the comments kirupians. All this “logo” will be is a vinyl sticker for the back windshield of 2 pickups. The text MUST be there for “reserved parking reasons”. There will be no problem cutting the stickers. There are two restrictions:
:: The plotter does not print, it only cuts. Therefore only one color can be used. (Unless I cut an “inlay”)
:: I am forced to choose one color.
Thanks all!!!
