Marriage proposal ideas

What if it’s not special? Will she kill you? Just asking…

Nice

I proposed during a walk on the beach. The coldest beach you’ve ever been on. It was so cold 100 yards is how far we made it from the car.

When I was 18, my ex proposed to me. I had just come back from holiday, and he was waiting for me at my (parents) house. Now, in my old bedroom, where this took place, I had a sliding door that led to my own little garden. So when I arrived, he was standing there, and told me to come and look at something in my garden. I go out the sliding door, and find rose petals thrown along a little path way, with candels (it was night time) on either side. Of course, I followed the path way, and came to a little zen garden thing, that you put on your desk, or coffee table. On top of the zen garden was a scroll. I picked the scoll up, and read it. It was a really mushie love letter. After reading that, with a tear on my eye, I look at the sand (which was previously covered by the scroll) and there he had written with a stick “will you marry me?” and stuck in the sand was the ring. Of course, I cried and turned around, and there he was. He took up the ring, and got down on his knees and placed it on my finger.

And although I did say yes, as you can see by my first sentence, I broke up with him a few months later, but that is a different post for a different time!

RabBell - thank you

Celeste Y - that is a great story:love:, well the middle was anyway - I’m sorry to hear it didn’t work out :frowning:

No, she won’t kill me… but she might be disappointed :frowning: … at least I want it to be a big surprise :stunned::pleased:

To be completely honest, I would probably be too happy to care if my boyfriend proposed in a restaurant, in a plane, or in a garbage dump.

You are right… I think I’ll come up with something nice with all the ideas posted on this thread… I’ll let you know how it goes in a couple of weeks…

I agree with hifi . . . but its always nice to do something out of the ordinary. Especially fun to tell the story to friends in the years to come. :hr:

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks, I proposed marriage to my girlfriend last friday and she said YES!!!

congratulations

and how did you propose?

Wow, that’s kinda freaky, on Friday night I had a dream that I proposed to my boyfriend. By singing him a Hanson song. (I didn’t even know I knew any Hanson songs.) Anyway, congratulations!

Actually I used a couple of ideas from this thread:

I liked this idea of the puzzle, so I looked for a guy who does this kind of stuff here in Costa Rica.
Then I bought like ten balloons and put them all inside a big box with the ring attached to biggest one.
On Friday, after work, I went to her house and gave her the puzzle. She started solving it until we got to the last four pieces (that were missing, or at least thats what she tought).
I had these pieces in my pocket… as you can imagine, they completed the words ‘Te casarias conmigo?’ (‘Will you marry me’ in Spanish)
Then she opened the box and all the balloons came out with the ring.
The surprise worked out very well. She said yes and after that we went to have dinner to one of the finnest restaurants here in CR. :beam:

Awww  I’m glad it worked out. (And that you used my puzzle suggestion :stuck_out_tongue: )

By the way, Thank you!

LMAO…

Did you tell your new fiance that you got the idea from some broad off the internet? :trout:  :beam:

:run:

lol @ fester…

sureshot, that was a very nice story

So when’s the wedding? I’m assuming we’re all invited… :beam:

Exactly, where’s my open bar and free dinner??
