Matrix Effect

I posted this in “Other” but it never got answered. :x

I have a question. I’m making a very simple flash intro with the Matrix effect from Kirupa lab. But there are two problems.

  1. It goes on forever, I tried to make it only around 100 frames by making text then making it fade out and continuing the text without the first three layers, but it would still go on forever. How can I make it go on only for only 100 frames then let the letters(the matrix letters) slow down and eventually fade?

  2. after a while of the intro going on, the matrix letters start overlapping each other and looking like crap. So basically, see above and that’s what I really need help with

Ilyas’ matrix effect was placed in the kirupa lab because it was an actionscript experiment. The effect itself it not efficient enough to be used in an intro or on a site layout. It is too processor intensive and not exactly the best when it comes to customizing/controlling it to do exactly what you want (unless you know your AS).

I recommend using tweens and masks almost like a vertical rendition of this effect…

there was a good matrix tutorial on deviantart not to long ago… i’ll see if i can find it for you :slight_smile:

i guess it’s not exactly what ur looking for… but… i think u can use parts of it…??
