Maximum Amount of Downloads

Anyone know how to change this? On windows Xp? I’m stuck at a maximum of 3 now, but that’s annoying, especially for relatively small files. Now I can’t download like twelve things at the same time and go eat lunch or something :smiley:

are you talking about a file sharing program? Internet explorer? Another browser?

there’s a tool called xp-antispy, it’s built to let you disable a lot of win xp’s annoying features, among them turning the taskmanager off, the error reports, and you can change number of the maximum allowed connections to 10 with it, if that would do, then…

…here’s a link

Yes, I was meaning the normal, Internet Explorer download thing. I’ll check out that link, thanks protagonist.

So there isn’t any other way to edit this? Editing the registry or something?

i guess there is,
that program doesn’t do anything other than changing registry keys, you can delete it after using it, so the result wouldn’t be too different from doing it manually with regedit

awesome piece of software! Thanks

Or…get Firefox and queue the downloads as many as you want.

TweakXP

tweakxp is cool :slight_smile: my friend gave it to me… so now i can set a time when it can auto turn off if i need to leave the comp on for a dlwd.

This will allow up to 10 simultaneous downloads for IE 6.

Locate the following key in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/InternetSetting

On the Edit menu, click Add Value , and then add the following registry values:

“MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server”=Dword:0000000a
"MaxConnectionsPerServer"=Dword:0000000a

Reboot
