thanks to kax i got my flash menu to work! thanks kax. but i added a couple things onto it, i added a rollover onto the buttons. and this is what happened
does anyone know why the buttons are flashing?? i double clicked on the button so it showed the hit states, and i added another layer. and added a frame to the over state. then added a keyframe on the over state for the second layer and then placed my rollover button on that keyframe… if it’s not one thing, it’s the next… OY!!! thanks in advance
go to the main menu button and edit it delete the second layer and just leave it will stop blinking and the menu will flow normally which is what i think your trying to achieve
i was thinking about that but i want the main menu button to have a rollover effect aswell… rather than just pulling out the other buttons… here’s the tut i used: CBT online, and there’s an example of the creation below
i followed the tut, but it didn’t explain how to make the other rollover for, so i combined that tut with this one from CBT online

got it… edit ur “main menu button”… break your object on Layer 2 twice.

I’m not certain i understand (bare with me here, i’m new to flash :P) so i have to go into my main menu button inside my main menu movie clip and the last part i don’t understand…
hmmm… ok… follow these simple steps.
- Open your “Main Menu.fla”.
- Select and double click your “Main Main Menu_MC”.
- In your Layer name “Main” Select the MainMenu button and double click again.
- You have layers on the button right? Now, go to layer 2.
- Select the object on layer 2.
- Then, Choose: Modify>Break Apart or use the shortcut CTRL+B.
- Repeat step 6.
- That’s it!
