[Media Protect] - Protect your digital media

Hi there. I just wanted to give everyone here a quick heads up about an awesome tool I ran across created by Leason (creator of http://www.pnflashgames.com/) with a team of developers.

Okay guys, you may or may not have caught the post about our new search capability that was recently added. I am posting now to encourage you to sign up on the site and register some of your works (or all). Here is why you want to sign up now.

  1. Registration is free
  2. Usernames are limited. Once a name is taken then you will no longer be able to register it, which means that when you want to register a flash game you won’t be able to sign up with your favorite name, you’ll have to settle for something else.
  3. Web crawling is under development and is slated to launch middle of next month. So what you ask? So if there is nothing in the database then the web crawling is going to be somewhat pointless. It also means that if you get your media in between now and the launch then you will get updates when our crawler finds copies of your games.

You will be able to see where your stuff is showing up around the net. Our reports will show you what pages host your game and what time we found them there. Initially the crawler is going to search a list of sites that we are going to feed it. However, registered users on the site will also be able to submit other sites they wish to be searched (eg, minijuegos.com or whatever).

We are also launching a feature soon that will allow you to link each release to a license. You can choose a stock license (ie, GPL…ect) or you can create your own license. You’ll be able to set whether a license is restrictive or not and if so, what sites (if any) are allowed to host the release.

There are a host of other features in the works and due to be launched soon, but we need you to start using the existing features before we can go too far. If we cannot be sure about what we have done then it is tough to gauge how we are doing and if we are on the right track.

I have put the forum back online so you can give us some feedback. This service is for you, the community. Your participation and feedback is what will dictate what direction it goes in, and how fast it goes there. I really appreciate everyone’s continued support and encouragement. I also look very much forward to some feedback about the service.

regards,

Lee Eason
