Okay, I have 2 x 256 (equaling a total of 512 DDR/PC3200/184 pin) memory modules in my PC right now and I have 2 open slots…

I was wondering if I have to put 2 more 256 modules or could I instead put 2 x 512 (1024 DDR <-- which is what I want to do) with my 2 x 256’s? Basically, do I have to use 256-type memory since I already have 256 in my PC or does that not matter?
