I can’t find any tutorials that would allow me to make a menu like the one on http://www.nopi.com/ndra.htm in flash instead of html.
I’ve seen it done but I cant figure it out.

yes. the side menu, how it folds out to the right on rollOver.
thats done with DHTML. You can’t really do that in Flash, unless your entire movie is Flash, because the Flash can’t just cover the HTML like that. If your entire movie is FLash then its just rollOver rollOut commands.
yup jubba is correct. do it in dreamweaver its real easy. just use hide-show layers
well the issue with that is this…
on rollOver and rollOut functions, if it’s the button that loads the set of options then as soon as you go to click a button you’ve rolled off the main button, thus unloading the selction (which has to be done because the menu options have to close). How do I get around this?
yes the movie is FULL flash
well you could manipulate a variable depending on where the mouse is. here is a non-AS way of doing it:
…does this make sense…if I get the main button to load the options and then the options movie has an unload feature on itself (the full options selection would have to be backed by a mc) so that the user loads the options by rolling over the main button but then unloading by leaving the options area…would this work? Mainly I am concerned that a movie could unload itself by rollout function…

well if you have your nav menu working you can also just make an invisible buton to make your menu disapear
