Microsam Electronics

This is a web i recently completed for a client:

Microsam Electronics

The task was to create a super simple site which is equally as simple to update. So i made it all using dynamic content.

Any opinions / comments are appreciated.

P.S. The background was taken and modified from 2A. It just fit so well… but if i get too many negative comments on it ill switch it (-: .

Hey Valor,

Excellent use of transitions.

I think the logo has too much of a contrast with the color scheme of the site. The red blue and yellow scream at me on the light gray.

I noticed the link back to your site in the lower left hand corner opens two pop-ups.

The site itself loads very quicly on my DSL.

I like the random 3d block effect, but I am not sure if it is appropriate on a product information page. Its kind of distracting and makes it hard to read the product specifications.

Dude…what is up with the crash scene in the gallery? I dont know what kind of message you are trying to relay with that.

I could not get the audio to load.

For the most part its a great site.

Hi Fester,

Thanks for your comments :-).

  1. I fixed the double pop-up window issue, thanks for pointing that out to me.

  2. You might be right about the logo, although your the first one to mention that it stands out too much. That’s his logo, and i had to incorporate it, weather I liked it or not :-/. I guess I could have made the site with red and yellow too… although I don’t know if that would have been any good (too colored). But i could be wrong.

  3. You are right about the floating cubes. Ill make them not cross the product specifications. Again, thanks for pointing that out. :o

  4. The crash scene lol. He wanted it in there, so I put it. I agree that it isn’t very professional looking, but he insisted, and so I had no word :-(. But the gallery section will probably be gone soon, and replaced with a “New Products” page.

  5. The audio takes a while to load… sorry :-(.

  • Don’t forget that its all dynamic flash. So if he decides to add pics which look “bad”, its up to him… :frowning: For example I had a different picture of his shop (better), but he replaced it with a more colored one :-/.

Thanks for your advice though :smiley:

I feel your pain on having to conform to the customers requirements.

I have made some <b>disgusting</b> sites in the past (which I wont list here) because of customer requests.

Keep flashing

Hey, I really enjoyed your site. (I especially liked those little 3d blocks floating around, nice touch) the olny thing i found wrong was when ever you click on “services” and the two choices pop up to skip or not, you cannot click on another link from there…which i found frustrating, and im sure the average consumer would too.
i really like the whole site though, nice job!!

GARRETT,

Good Point!!!

Me Fix!!!

:beam: =)

Anyone else?

I:-)

Very nice design Valor, I can see that it is 2advanced influenced especially the background, but that will be our little secret ahhaha. =)

I agree with fester on the logo, you have a monochrome site and the logo is color so it seems a bit odd, it doesn’t go too well with the overall layout.

Another thing that I want to add to what has already been said is that I think you should set up a function so that the buttons disable themselves after being clicked and is enabled when another button is clicked so that the viewer doesnt repeatedly loads the same section over and over. You can use something like this:

on (release){
	_root.button1.enabled=false;
	_root.button2.enabled=true;
	_root.button3.enabled=true;
	_root.button4.enabled=true;
	_root.button5.enabled=true;
}

Overall I like the site, you have some pretty nice effect and your content is well layed out, good job. =)

Electron-G,

Thank you for your reply :-).

Hmm, where is the monochrome? Maybe im blind but i thought the site is blue? I cant do much about the logo… as i wrote before its his logo. But if you have any suggestions as how to modify the site so it doesnt contrast too much with the logo, let me know :smirk:

The function you suggested sounds interesting, and is rightly pointed out. However, I have noticed many people reload the same page just to see the transitions in it. If i disable the button, this wouldnt be possible anymore.

However, i could add some kind of identifier which points to the button in which the site is currently on… that would be easy :slight_smile:

Thanks for your feedback Electron, I really appreciate it. =)

A monochrome is just one color, but with many shades of that same color. The monochrome you’re using is blue, but there are several shades or values of it. I hope that was a bit more clear. =)

:o Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Man im dumb.

Slappen sie mich :trout:

valor, ur work is always very nice and top notch. im a fan of the site all the way. i really am a fan of the services section, very nice :). im not sure about the 2a bg though. either way really nice job.

Thank you soooooooooo much slayerment!!!
