This is a website we made for a DJ friend of ours, and is the second full flash site we have made.

“We” being Willard & Szekely Design (www.wsd.com.au), two 18yo australian designers who took a year off before uni to start a business and travel. ha!

For the most part I like it a lot. The transitions are nice and smooth and the colors are easy on the eyes.

Two things I noticed. Is there really a need for that splash page? Its pretty content-less :beam: and the main page once your in the site is kind of dull with all the white space and those huge drop-down menu’s

Once you make a selection I like how it flows alot with the left hand navigation.

Is there any way you can do without the huge links at the bottom. I think they hurt the overall design that otherwise would look sleek and minimalistic. I agree that the splash page isn’t really nessesary. Other than that the site is fantastic! Soooo smoooth mmmmmmm!

Very smooth :thumb: I’m with Wanyo on the big links at the bottom, shrink em down at least, if you have to have em. Also, what frame rate are you at? The nav seems fast, but the transitions (at least for me) are way too slow. I take it the nav is scripted, and the trannies are tweened. I’m speaking of the masking tweens. Speed em up, it’ll smooth out even more.

I like alot… agree with: make the logos at the bottom smaller, and maybe greyscale, also splash is not needed.

in addition: I think you should slow down the scroll rate in the bio section, that is smokin’ fast I would just brush it with my cursor and be like three para’s ahead of what I just read :wink:

Great site, specially the gallery, one thing I noticed was the text for the major links was hard to read on a laptop, the colour definition between the faded orange and the white text was low, a slight outline or some other means of increasing contrast would help. nice work!

Unfortunately we can’t change the links at the bottom of the site as they came straight from Milkbar Nick’s sponsors.

Good point about the splash page… it originally had functionality as a “coming soon” page but that seems quite pointless now.

As for the transitions, the whole site is running at 32fps, some of the animations may run a little jerky on slower machines, there’s a lot going on there!
