The adjustment wheel on my PC’s monitor doesn’t work anymore. The bad thing is that the brightness setting is set at a very low 20%. It’s so hard to do graphics design at this darkness. Is there any way to change the brightness using software as opposed to using hardware?
What part of the wheel is broken?
Why not pop it open?
The wheel clicks when it turns.
I’m not that advanced.
You don’t have to be that advanced, all you need is a screwdriver.
CRT monitors hold enough charge in them even when unplugged to kill you…
If you go that root then be very carefull.
Try this http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/12/1/12-1-29.shtml I don’t know if it will help but you can always Umm “Google I…I Mean search for it”
It’s not like you’re digging into the deep stuff, all you’re doing is removing the plastic.
Smash open the screen and then what? Do some wiring and mending with a blowtorch? :h: This isn’t my field. I’ve never dealt with computer hardware before.
No blowtorch needed. It’s still worth a try. :sure:
maxtrosity sheesh man - you can’t tell a person who repeatedly says they aren’t that advanced to have at it - it’s pointless to carry it as far as you have.
I’m sorry?
If you are in desperate need of a solution you could always buy a Monitor correction http://www.colorcal.com/profis/profis_view.jsp?id=101 there is one just so you know what they are.
Hmm - the Spyder thing is about $169 according to vdam’s link. You may be able to find a decent Flat CRT monitor for around that price
Haha yeah hence why I said he had to be desperate to buy it but the link was basically meant to show him what I was talking about.
So i dont think that, that thing is going to help him out.
